I am a weaver, a spinner, a designer, a sewer, a lover of colour, texture, yarn, fibre, dyeing, trying, experimenting, creating.
After working for 40 years in the advertising and printing industry whilst fulfilling my creative desires in my spare time, I took a deep breath and dove into full-time study in 2016. Three years on, and I’m ready to show the world where this has led me with a Bachelor of Media Arts Degree in Fashion.
My third year Fashion Project has pushed me past my comfort zone and into the world of three-dimensional weaving, creating a collection of fabrics which reference my past and inspire my future.
Titled Wai – Who am I, What am I, Why am I – this collection was inspired by my history. My forebears – a weaver, printers and accountants in England – and how these people have shaped me.
